Seminary Marketing Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
The Marketing and Communications department is dedicated to engaging all external audiences of Briercrest in a way that builds trust in the mission and values of the brand. The primary goal of this department is to connect external people to what God is doing through education.
All official Briercrest initiatives exist to help accomplish the mission set in place by the board of directors. As such, the ultimate authority on all Briercrest properties is the Board’s one employee, the Briercrest President. The President empowers the VP of External Relations with authority for vision, and oversight of Briercrest initiatives. The VP External empowers the Director of Marketing to manage and monitor Briercrest Marketing initiatives, making effective changes to accomplish the stated institutional goals.
PURPOSE
• An innovative graduate community of learning, preparing students to serve God’s kingdom in diverse settings with virtue, spiritual integrity, vocational sensitivity, and academic rigour.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Agreement to live within the Briercrest Institutional Covenant Agreement and alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Briercrest Christian Academy, College, and Seminary
• A passionate supporter of the education and community experience offered by Briercrest
• Prior experience as a social media manager for a corporate or non-profit brand
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, English, Communications, or related discipline
• Excellent copywriting, and editing skills with a strong attention to detail
• The ability to work both collaboratively and independently, taking initiative and demonstrating a willingness to take risks
• Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment of change with a high-volume workload, often requiring short turnaround times
• Ability and interest in marketing data analytics
• Excellent time management skills with an ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Have taken courses in graphic design or equivalent
• Experience and proficiency with web design, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms
RESPONSIBLITIES
Briercrest Seminary Coordinator: 4 Main things
1. Web Content
• Being current, relevant and updated in a timely manner. Special consideration to indexing content for AI agents to find and understand.
2. Search Engine Optimization
• All academic programs organically ranking high in search engines.
3. Search Engine Marketing
• Development and direction of advertising spend for all academic programs targeting keywords.
4. Campaign management
• Each year identifying from Marketing leadership and school stakeholders which programs will be proactively emphasized including but not limited to:
1. Social Advertisements
2. Digital Advertisements
3. Print Advertising
4. Event Sponsorship
5. Webinar hosting
6. Campaign videos
7. Campaign Blog series
Responsibilities continued:
1. Audience Understanding:
• Become an expert in the department audience.
• Engages mature students, often already in ministry or careers.
• Learn from department staff members
• Learn from external research trends, values, behaviors and preferences.
2. Website:
• Routinely audit department website copy.
• Update and maintain web copy to be current.
• Add new initiatives in timely manner.
• Ensure brand values and voice are displayed through department web pages.
• Utilizes academic content, alumni success stories, and faculty engagement.
3. Campaign Development and Management:
• Develop campaigns that will increase traffic, engagement and action taken by target audiences to accomplish department growth goals
• Build and manage campaigns with assigned department leaders
• Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content to achieve those goals (e.g. original text, photos, videos, and news)
• Collaborate with the marketing team creative personnel and department leaders to complete campaigns from concept to final rollout
• Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
4. Social Media Management:
• Manage department Social Media account.
• Schedule and manage a social media calendar, remaining flexible for posting opportunities with priority going to posts that help achieve established department goals.
• Help to curate a social media brand aesthetic that is visually appealing and brand consistent
• Listen to, respond to, and engage with audiences across Seminary channels.
5. Reporting
• Generate monthly report for marketing and assigned department leaders.
• Track tasks and goals in Monday.com
• Analyze performance metrics based on established key performance indicators.
DESIRED OUTCOMES AND ACTIVITIES
This person must be a self-starting individual who is able to able to demonstrate initiative in crafting and executing a thoughtful marketing and communications plan for the Seminary.
• Actively supporting and promoting the vision and mission of Briercrest Seminary.
• Establishing and driving a creative communications strategy that actively tells our story and promotes our initiatives
• Writing and editing content for print materials, website and social media posts
• Overseeing the creation of video, audio, and digital content.
o Focuses on thought leadership, theological depth, and professional development.
• Preparing and managing all communications materials, including graphic design
• Actively engaging with potential students, alumni, denominations, churches, and pastors through LinkedIn, social media, and other platforms
• Publishing helpful content through finding and telling stories of those in our student, alumni, and Co-vocational Canada network
• Tracking engagement across platforms and making recommendations based on the data.
• Maintaining brand integrity across all programs
• Possible involvement at conferences and other recruitment and marketing events
TEAM RELATIONSHIPS
• Reports to the Director of Marketing.
• Proactive collaboration with the Dean of the Seminary.
• Works within the Marketing department, serving the Seminary,
